Chippa United striker Ntuthuko Mlotshwa is hoping to get back on the scoresheet when the Chilli Boys face Siwelele in a Betway Premiership soccer clash at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein on Tuesday (7.30pm).
When they played to a 1-1 draw in their Premiership match against Richards Bay, Mlotshwa scored for the Gqeberha side.
The 24-year-old former Lerumo Lions striker was among the eight players signed for the new season.
After playing in the Motsepe Foundation Championship for four seasons, this is his first Premiership contract.
“The move from NFD to PSL has not been simple, but thus far, everything is going smoothly,” Mlotshwa said.
“I believe that everything has its proper time, and I believe that this was the ideal moment for me to advance to a higher league.
“I have played two games now for Chippa, although I was nervous when I played against Richards Bay, but I told myself I know why I am here, so I shouldn’t doubt myself.
“I feel like I can’t let down the many people who are rooting for me and want me to succeed.
“I should just play and do what I know because this is football and I am aware of my abilities.”
The Chilli Boys suffered their first league defeat against Pirates and have yet to win a match this campaign.
“The game against Pirates was not easy.
“I was very nervous the whole first half, but as the game went on, I got used to the play.
“I think in the next fixture I will do well,” Mlotshwa said.
“I think this is our chance to shine against Siwelele.
“In the previous three games, we have not yet had a chance to get three points.
“We have been pushing very hard at training because we want to come away with three points.
“My dream and wish for the team this season is that we fight for the top eight.”
