Chippa United are determined to topple Siwelele FC on Tuesday and finally claim their first three-pointer of the season.
But Chilli Boys head coach Brandon Truter acknowledges the daunting challenge of overcoming Siwelele on their home turf, especially with a passionate home crowd.
The Betway Premiership match will take place at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein on Tuesday (7.30 pm).
The Gqeberha side are 13th on the table with two points from three games.
After two opening draws against Golden Arrows and Richards Bay, Chippa suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 3-0 to Orlando Pirates in their most recent match.
Despite the setback, the coach believes his team are improving and eager to win their first league game this season against Siwelele.
“We are very confident in our ability, in our structure, and in how we defend and attack as well,” Truter said.
“So, the team is looking good, irrespective of our previous result against Pirates.
“We take some confidence out of the performance; the team is in a good space. We have managed to shake off that defeat, and we are looking forward to the Siwelele game.
“We are playing against a team that is at home; they have massive support behind them. I feel or anticipate a team that will come all out to get a win, as well.
“With that as well, we have to be very strategic about how we attack them. They will leave spaces; we have analysed their previous games as well. They defend one-v-one at the back.
“So, that is something that we can capitalise on because we have the players with the capabilities to eliminate players and attack them in one-v-one situations.
“I think our structure is good with our pressing. We want to press them high, and that will put them in the back seat or will force them to change their tactics.
“But we are very mindful that we are going to a Siwele crowd that can be hostile at times.”
Truter had been griping about their uneven second-half performance in their last game.
However, the coach says he has discovered a solution that will help the team.
